Department of Shalakya Tantra
The department of Shalakyatantra deals with organs situated in head and neck, i.e eye, ear, nose, throat,lips, teeth, gums, tongue, palate, pharynx, larynx, head, hairs & scalp.
Experienced faculties train students of Final BAMS, Shalakyatantra PG scholars and Ph.D scholars in both theory and practical aspects of Ayurveda and contemporary medical science related to Shalakyatantra.
The department has updated laboratory instruments, clinical equipment, museum, library and other amenities for the better learning experience for the students.

EVENTS
16th February 2026- Department of Shalakya tantra conducted EYE and ENT camp at Gunnal.
14th March 2026- Glaucoma Awareness and Screening Camp conducted at S G PU and Degree College, Koppal.
20th March 2026- On occasion of World Oral Health Day, The Department of Shalakyatantra conducted health awareness talk on oral hygiene and prevention of orodental diseases to government school students of Halagera.
15th July 2026- In collaboration with the Sanskrit Club, the Department of Shalakya Tantra conducted a Samhita Pathana on the occasion of Sushruta Jayanti. All faculty members and PG scholars participated, reciting verses related to surgeries of Urdhvajatru as mentioned by Sushruta.
12th June 2026- From Department of Shalakya tantra conducted Eye and ENT camp at Government engineering college Talkal.
30th May 2026- On occasion of World No tobacco day, the department of Shalakya tantra in association with Tobacco Cessation Center (TCC), SJGAMC&H, Koppal, conducted a health awareness talk at Marishantaveera PU College, Koppal. An awareness lecture was given on harmful effects of tobacco use and importance of maintaining a tobacco-free lifestyle. The program was well attended by students and faculty members and concluded successfully with an interactive discussion.
